Knowing is Trusting

As mentioned earlier, I underwent several tests at the hospital today, including one called a gamma camera scan. I had two sessions on this machine, each lasting about 15 minutes. The challenge with this procedure is that the machine operates quietly and moves very slowly. While lying on the bed, I had to remain perfectly still for the duration of each session.

The issue, in my opinion, lies in the lack of communication from the machine regarding the remaining time for each session. This absence of feedback can make the test feel prolonged and stressful. I believe it's essential for machines like this to provide feedback to the patient, helping them better manage their time and expectations during the procedure.

As someone once said, "It's easier to wait six minutes for the bus when you know when it's coming than to wait four minutes without knowing when the bus will arrive."
