We encounter email problem on Friday last week. While we are working on that, we discover bigger and more complex DELL Storage hardware issues. To completely file those issues, we needed to rebuild everything ... I mean everything. It took us 4 days to rebuild everything with as little interruption as possible for the services.
We just completed the rebuilding of the entire storage system for our web and email hosting system. For those people who were affected by the rebuild, we thank you very much for your support.
We have completed 4TB of backups and now we are moving on to setting up storage device for our backup data center for real time data replication. Once the synchronization is complete, we are 100% redundant.
There si no outage at this point while we are working on this since last Friday.
It took more than 30 hours to find out what went wrong with our storage system. We worked with DELL non-stop for last 30 hours to figure out the problem and now we are working on restoring all the backup and replication for our web and email service.
This problem caused about 130 customers for 8 hours on Friday morning out of 38,000 customers. We are very sorry for those customers who were affected by tho incident. All affected customers were contacted by PSPINC by telephone since the email service was interrupted.
The rebuilt of the service is now 60% complete. However, there is not interruption in our service since the initial 8 hour email service outage. We expect everything to be back to normal in another 3 to 5 hours. Thank you for your support.
The mail service is back online now, however we still have few things to do. Some of that require the service to be down for as much as an hour.
We will complete this process in the middle of the night and weekend ... mainly now.
We have been developing Android application for a while and now we will start porting the application that we built to Apple iOS.
Hello World !!!
I purchased APC UPS 350VA for my MacPro. I guess 350VA was not enough to supply power to this power hungry MacPro. I need to buy bigger UPS.
I am announcing the software development plan for 2012 tomorrow at Pacific Software Publishing, Inc. HQ. This plan includes improvement, discontinuing of some services, complete rewrite and new development.
At least for now, you do not think or worry about other search site than Google. For now people should be concentrate on Google ranking. When 85% of people use Google, we do not really need to think about any other sites.
I really wish Yahoo and Bing do something different to make it more valuable.
This information is as of 2011/11.
Last time when the power fractured, my computer shut down and all the work I was doing was lost. I even had an UPS but it was not big enough. So, I purchased two brand new UPS's to replace one. They are less than $100 each. I connected one to my MacPro, and another to two 26" monitors. This will save my work from unstable power.
When was the last time you checked your UPS? UPS is a very inexpensive but very effective tool for your company IT. If you need to know more about UPS, call PSPINC at 425-957-0808.
Many of you use services like MailChimp, Constant Contact and so on to broadcast email to your clients. But do you know PSPINC produced the software to do email broadcasting in 1997 (NewsMAIL). In 1999 (NewsMAIL2U.com), we started email broadcasting as a service.
We are in the process of major upgrade again, but the service is available as is and you can try it for free for 30days. Give us a call, we will setup the free trial for you.
