The process of improving the information on your website to increase web traffic is called SEO optimization. It involves things like meta tags, keyword alignment, and ensuring support for mobile devices. Additionally, security using SSL is also crucial.
Listing in Local Directories
In the past, you wanted to get listed in the phone book, but now it's all about platforms like Yelp and other local information sites. This is especially important for businesses with physical locations or storefronts.
Setting Up a Google Business Profile
Sometimes when you google a company, you see the company’s information displayed on the right side of the search results. This is a Google Business Profile, and you can apply with Google to get one set up for your business. It takes some effort, but it makes it easier for potential clients to find you.
Posting on Social Media
There are many social media platforms like blogs, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, and Pinterest. It's not crucial which you use, but posting your company's information on a wide variety of platforms will widen your reach. I visited my old college when I went to Torrance this week. Instead of flying into Los Angeles International, I flew into Ontario Airport for this trip. On my way back from Torrance to Ontario Airport, I took a detour to visit my old college. It’s hard to believe it has been over 40 years since I graduated. When I first enrolled, it was called Azusa Pacific College. It became a university when I was a junior, I think. Since then, the college has grown significantly, and I no longer recognize most of the campus or any of the faculty members. But it's good to know it's still there.

After the Thursday morning meeting online, we checked out from hotel in Torrance California. We visited Tokyo Central and we departed apart. I went to visit my college which is at azusa Pacific University. At lunch at San Dimas and to the rental car back to Ontario airport. I spent some time at airport lounge and I am now waiting at the gate for my flight back to Seattle. It was a very productive trip and our staff from San Diego did the excellent job at seminar last night.

First Step in Running a Business: Financial Management

Many business owners hope their products or services will be used by many people. While it's important to focus on developing products that make customers happy, managing finances is also essential for a business to thrive. Various costs are involved, such as product development, labor costs, rent, utilities, and more. Additionally, taxes must be paid. These back-office expenses were never on my mind back when I was an employee.

Have you ever wondered how much the rent for your desk in the office might be? Every single thing, from a desk to a pencil, incurs expenses and must be paid by the company. However, the company doesn't start with money in hand. So while it's not exactly a chicken-and-egg situation, without money, a company cannot continue, and without a thriving business, money won't increase.

Therefore, to minimize expenses initially, a business owner might not hire employees and handle everything on their own. The concept of a minimum wage doesn't mean much to a business owner. No matter how many hours you work, if money isn't coming in, there won't be any salary.

There's no room to voice a dislike for accounting or to avoid it. It's necessary to know how much your company currently has, what expenses are expected in the future, and the anticipated income. While focusing on sales and product development is important, the most crucial aspect is understanding your company's financial health. The only way to do that is through diligent accounting - just a gentle reminder to my fellow business owners.
