GSA SCAM

thread
GSA SCAM
I just receiged a call from someone who said she is calling from GSA. I hanged up and I research the GSA Scam on the Internet. Here is the result...

The GSA scam is a type of fraudulent scheme that involves criminals posing as representatives of the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) and offering to register companies for government contracts for a fee. The GSA is a government agency that provides services and support to federal agencies and manages federal property.

In the GSA scam, the fraudsters typically target small businesses that are interested in obtaining government contracts. They reach out to these businesses via phone or email, claiming to be GSA representatives or third-party organizations authorized to register businesses for government contracts. They offer to register the businesses for government contracts for a fee, and may even provide false information about the availability of contracts or the likelihood of success.

Once the businesses pay the fee, the fraudsters may provide them with false or incomplete information, or fail to deliver on their promises altogether. In some cases, the fraudsters may also steal the business's identity or financial information, further compounding the damage.

It is important to note that the GSA does not charge businesses a fee to register for government contracts. Any communication claiming to be from the GSA that requests payment for contract registration is likely a scam and should be reported to the authorities.

What is the difference between Connections and Contacts in Linked In?

thread
What is the difference between...
Looking at my Linked In Page, I wonder what is the difference between Connections and Contacts. So, I dod some research ... On LinkedIn, "connections" and "contacts" have slightly different meanings.

"Connections" on LinkedIn refers to people with whom you have established a professional connection. These are people with whom you have agreed to connect on the platform, and you can see each other's profiles, updates, and posts on the platform. You can also send messages, endorse skills, and write recommendations for your connections on LinkedIn.

"Contacts," on the other hand, refers to the people in your address book that LinkedIn has access to. When you give LinkedIn permission to access your contacts, the platform will match the names and email addresses in your contacts with the names and email addresses of people on LinkedIn. This allows you to easily find and connect with people you know in real life who are also on LinkedIn.

In summary, connections on LinkedIn are people with whom you have established a professional connection on the platform, while contacts are people in your address book that LinkedIn has access to.

Ken Uchikura Newsletter Vol. 223 Web Hosting Services Explained

thread
Ken Uchikura Newsletter Vol. ...

Web Hosting Services Explained

A web hosting service’s purpose is to provide a platform for individuals and organizations to publish their websites on the Internet. After creating a website, the server must connect to the internet so it can store web files and serve them when people request them. Web hosting companies own or lease servers with the resources needed to store web files and ensure the website will always be available and accessible.

In addition to servers, web hosting services provide features and resources, some of which may be disk space, internet bandwidth, email accounts, security features, on-site power generation (in case of power outages), 24-hour monitoring, and a variety of other tools.

Depending on the type of website, amount of traffic, and need for technical expertise, there are different types of web hosting available, including shared hosting, virtual private server (VPS) hosting, dedicated hosting, and cloud hosting. The web hosting someone chooses depends on the specific requirements of the website and the user's budget and technical skills.

PSPINC offers hosting, which ranges from shared hosting services to VPS, depending on user level and needs. We also offer three types of hosting services at different price levels.

Sweet Tooth Day at PSPINC.
Which do you like scones or donuts?

"Sweet tooth" is a common idiom used to describe a person who has a strong liking for sweet foods or sugary treats. The term is often used to describe someone who craves sweet foods, desserts, or candy and is willing to indulge in them frequently. Having a sweet tooth is not a medical condition, but it can be a contributing factor to health problems like obesity, tooth decay, and diabetes if not moderated.

Cost of Lunch in Japan

thread
Cost of Lunch in Japan
The cost of lunch in Japan can vary depending on various factors such as location, type of restaurant, and the specific dish or meal ordered. However, on average, the cost of lunch in Japan can range from 500 yen to 1,500 yen (approximately $4.50 to $13.50 USD) per person.

At a casual fast-food restaurant like a ramen or udon shop, a bowl of noodles or rice bowl can cost around 500-800 yen. A typical Japanese-style set lunch at a family restaurant or chain restaurant can cost around 800-1,200 yen. A more upscale restaurant or a specialty restaurant like sushi or tempura can cost around 1,500-3,000 yen or more for lunch.

It's worth noting that many restaurants in Japan offer lunch sets or specials, which can be a good value for the money. These typically include a main dish, rice, miso soup, and a small side dish or two. Additionally, convenience stores and supermarkets also offer a wide variety of affordable lunch options such as bento boxes, sandwiches, and salads.

I will be traveling to Japan next week. I will be reporting what I eat and how much it costs. So be sure to follow me.

Looks like full moon tonight.

thread
Looks like full moon tonight. Looks like full moon tonight.
I think this is the best moon picture I can take with my iPhone. I have a SLR camera that can take beautiful picture of the moon but who wants to carry a SLR. My SLRs are sitting in my office collecvting dust. What a waste!

Here is how you might be able to take a better poicture of the moon woith iPhone.

Taking a good moon photo with an iPhone can be challenging, but here are some tips to help you get the best shot possible:

Use a tripod or steady surface: To avoid any blurry shots, it's important to keep your iPhone steady while taking the photo. Use a tripod or place your iPhone on a steady surface to prevent any movement.

Adjust exposure: When taking a moon photo, the iPhone camera tends to overexpose the image, which can wash out the details of the moon. To adjust the exposure, tap on the moon in the camera app and slide your finger up or down to adjust the exposure level.

Use the telephoto lens: If you have an iPhone with a telephoto lens (iPhone 7 Plus or later), use it to zoom in on the moon. This will help capture more details and make the moon appear larger in the frame.

Use manual focus: To make sure the moon is in focus, tap and hold on the moon in the camera app. A yellow box will appear around the moon, indicating that it's in focus.

Use an editing app: After taking the photo, use an editing app to adjust the brightness, contrast, and sharpness of the image. This can help bring out the details of the moon and make the photo look more professional.

With these tips, you should be able to take a great moon photo with your iPhone!

Phishing Email from My Company!?!?!

thread
Who is Lance Corbin? Who is Lance Corbin?
I received email from Lamce Corbin ... using gmail and calling me Kenichi.
He is supposed to be an systems Enginner Manager 😆
This is lame.

What is Phishing Email:

Phishing emails are fraudulent emails that are sent to individuals or organizations in order to obtain sensitive information such as login credentials, credit card details, or other personal information.

Phishing emails are typically designed to look like they are from a legitimate source such as a bank, social media platform, or government agency, and they often include a call to action to click on a link, download an attachment, or enter sensitive information into a form.

Phishing emails can also be used to trick the recipient into transferring money or giving access to their computer or network. They can be very convincing, using official-looking logos, branding, and language, and often rely on the recipient's trust in the supposed sender.

It's important to be cautious when receiving emails from unknown or suspicious sources and to verify the authenticity of any requests for sensitive information before providing any details.
