近海物、和歌山産の平子イワシです。

イワシの美味しい時期に入ってきました。

これから夏にかけて冬場までが美味しいイワシです。

日本海側や一般に言われるマイワシの呼び名が　「ヒラコイワシ（平子いわし）」　です。

背が青く、側面に７つか８つの点がありそれで　「ななつぼし」　と呼ぶ地方もあります。
