You can now enjoy all 31 videos in our 'Living & Traveling Abroad' series on YouTube. Have you watched all of them? Some of them? Any of them...?!
We had fun making them. I hope you enjoy watching them.
Grammar:
- have fun + 動詞ing
- enjoy + 動詞ing / 名詞 (Be careful: 'enjoy' needs an object 目的語, so e.g. "Did you enjoy?" or "I really enjoyed!" are WRONG. "Did you enjoy yourself/the party/camping/etc?" & "I really enjoyed it/myself/talking to you." are OKAY.
Have you been watching our new Travel English series on Youtube? Please look:

As you can see, our studio is pretty high-tech!
Pronunciation:
- Be careful: studio (スタジオ) is actually pronounced `スチュデイオウ` in English.
The big day has arrived! From today you can see the first video in a new Youtube series by me & Tera-chan.

- "前の___" = "previous/last/former/old ____" (NOT "before ___")

- An easier, casual way: "...right?" = "...ですね / だよね?"

To promote the book & Youtube series, on Jan 12th me, Gifu Teragoya staff & teachers, & even Tera-chan (can you see his little bow-tie?) dressed up `Red Carpet` style. This is a photo we took outside our school. It was embarrassing (はずかしい) but fun.
Vocabulary:
- be ON Youtube/Twitter/Facebook/Skype, so "Are you on Facebook?" "She spends all her free time on Skype" "Lots of celebrities are on Twitter"
If you`re reading this blog, you`re probably interested in learning English, right?
Or you`re my mum.
Well, I`m proud to announce (はっぴょうする) the launch (発売 ) of Teragoya`s Business English Phrases series on Youtube. The first video was released today & we will release a new one every week. Please check it out! I hope it will help you learn English!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4vMIJ7X0vw&feature=youtu.be
Pronunciation:
`au` is usually pronounced `オー` in English (not `アウ`), so
launch = ローンチ
sauna = ソーナ
Braun = ブローン
daughter = ドータ
When I was out riding my bike, I found this place: The Hashima Folk History & Movie Museum.
It was closed, but the poster outside caught my attention - an old movie starring Ken Takakura. After seeing this poster, I really wanted to watch this movie, so later I went to a DVD rental store & rented it.
It`s great. First, gangsters hassle Ken`s family. Then they mistreat his sister. Next they blackmail (脅し取る) his brother, & after that they kill his father. Finally... it`s KEN REVENGE TIME! Ken Takakura goes to the gangsters` HQ & kills them all (making sure to expose his chest & show off his muscles & fancy tattoos in the process).
Actually, all early Ken Takakura movies feature this same plot.
Vocabulary:
First... Then... Next... After that.... Finally/Lastly...
Be careful: `After that` is OK, `After then` is WRONG
Also: `Lastly` = 最後に `At last` = やっと
