PSP What's New Newsletter Vol. 22 "Two-factor Authentication"

What do you think of when you think about Internet data security? Many people will think of a “username” and “password” as protection. When you access any data on the Internet, you must be authenticated. That is accomplished with your username and password. However, most usernames are email addresses, and anyone who knows the password can log in.
If the password is simply “PASSWORD”, a birthday, or the name of a child or a pet - it can be guessed easily. If you make the password harder, you may not be able to remember it. You might write it on a post-it note and put it in the drawer of your desk. That doesn't make sense.
Pacific Software Publishing, Inc. is introducing “Two-factor Authentication” into our systems. This is a method that requires a registered mobile phone to be used as an additional authentication device. When anyone tries to login to your account using a correct username and password, you will receive a text message on your mobile phone asking for authentication. By using this method, even if your username and password are stolen, nobody will be able to access the data unless you authenticate the login with your mobile phone.
If you are storing important data and would like to implement “Two-factor Authentication”, please feel free to contact us. I will provide a detailed explanation.
