Employee Spotlight: Meet Ryan

Employee Spotlight: Meet Ryan
At PSPINC, we pride ourselves on helping our customers grow their business online with their website. This is largely thanks to our incredibly talented and experienced design team. In this series, we will highlight and showcase some friendly faces standing by to take your call or email, help with your IT problems, and assist with your online solutions. This time, we’re spotlighting Chief Design Officer, Ryan Heinrichs, who is gearing up to represent us at the annual International Executives Association (IEA) Conference in Las Vegas.

Ryan manages our expert design team at PSPINC as our Chief Design Officer. We sat down with Ryan and asked him some questions to get to know him better.

What do you do at PSPINC?

I oversee all elements of creative, design, marketing, and front-end development. As well as assist with strategy and new service creation.

What does a typical day on the job look like for you?

No two days are the same. We meet daily each morning with our R&D team members for a status report for our ongoing projects. From there, my day can go in many directions as I work with our design, marketing, and development teams to address our many projects.

How did you first learn about PSPINC?

I found a job posting for a Web Designer position.

How long have you been working at PSPINC?

15 years.

What do you like to do for fun?

Hanging out with my wife and two kids, going to the gym, reading, and golfing.

What is your favorite food?

Tacos

What is your favorite movie?

It's hard to pick just one - The Empire Strikes Back, The Bourne Identity, and Pulp Fiction to name a few.

What’s the most challenging part of your job?

Being provided an idea or piece of business logistics and finding the easiest and best way to implement it into online software. Along with being challenging, it's also equal parts exciting and rewarding!

Before working for PSPINC, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?

Before college, I worked in a large furniture distribution center pulling orders and loading trucks. I spent a lot of time on electric pallet trucks, forklifts and order pickers.

What have you learned since working here?

I've learned a lot! But one of the most important is the value of UX (user experience) when it comes to software design. It's a bit like the old adage of "if a tree falls in a forest does it make a sound?" You can have the most feature-rich, powerful application in the world. But if it's too complex for your userbase, it doesn't have any value.

What has been your favorite project at PSPINC?

Our newest product, Biznomos, has been my favorite project so far. In a leadership role I have less time to take on large scale design projects myself. With this one, I was able to roll up my sleeves and come up with the full system design.

What has been your proudest moment at PSPINC?

The same answer! I believe Biznomos is one of the best products on the market when it comes to business association management - both for admins and members. Being on the ground floor, from concept to creation, has been extremely rewarding. I'm looking forward to continuing to get this in the hands of associations as well as continuing to add more features and upgrades!

Is there anything else you’d like to add?

If you are involved with (or know someone involved with) a member association or business network, I would love for you to check out Biznomos. We are offering a no obligation free trial. PSPINC also provides a number of other Business Tools that I would love for people to check out.

And of course, if you need custom software unique to your business, we can help too!

We hope you enjoyed getting to know Ryan today! If you’re looking to grow your business online, don’t hesitate to contact us by emailing us at contact@pspinc.com or calling us at 800-232-3989.
