PSPINC used to license US Software packages, translate them into Japanese, publish them in Japan. That is where name Pacific Software Publishing, Inc. comes from.
We have gotten out of licensing and publishing business back in 1996 but until then we have translated tens of software for Japan. And one of the biggest tasks is to translate manuals into Japanese language.
Now, we develop and publish software as a service on the net, we try to make the software so intuitive and easy that you do not need manual. If the system require manuals (although some still do), it is not good enough to be our service.
I tell every one in our R&D team, if you need to explain how to use software to your parents over the phone.
The Visio 14" Notebook PC I purchased does not come with an ethernet adopter (aka RJ45). That means, when I go to some hotels without any wireless connectivity (all wired) I cannot connect to the internet from my room. There are many hotels in Japan do offer wired but no wireless internet.
I had to buy external ethernet adopter. I purchased one on the net for about $20 and I just installed. It is working fine. I think regardless of the size of the PC or Tablet, I wish they all come with ethernet adopter.
My Visio Ultrabook
There is a video camera built into my PC, but do you know there is no software on my PC to test or even take picture using this web cam.
I used the online web cam tester ... I found the camera is foggy, not very high quality, does not focus well ... What the hell I am saying? This is a PC, not a Macintosh. You get what you pay.
We are building a service called http://www.contactmanage.com which is design to synchronize your address book and calendar in the cloud. By placing the address book and calendar in the cloud, all your PCs, Tablets and Smartphones can share the same data.
This service will go on the public beta very soon.
I just receives the new iPad case. This is much better case than any of the cases or the covers I purchased before from anyone including Apple. I like TUMI brand and I own their brief case, travel bag and few other items.
I think they make better products than others when it comes to business cases. So I did not hesitate to send more for this case than I may on others. There are few other brands like that. As a business you work hard to create good brand recognition. We must work hard to start building good brand recognition for PSPINC.
Unless you use Microsoft Exchange Server or Microsoft 365, until now you really have no way to publish or synchronize all your address books and calendars with other people or multiple devices.
PSPINC has developed an online service to synchronize and publish your address books and calendars and it just went into the Alpha-Testing. When you add contact to your address book on your iPhone, it will update your contact on your outlook.
Stay tuned, we will have a public beta very soon.

Firefox and Thunderbird
Instead of IE and Live Mail
I try to use Internet Explorer 9 and Windows Live Mail that came with My Visio PC for over two weeks but I can not. I was confused, frustrated and mad about constant meaningless messages and popups. And they are not designed well for everyday use. So, yesterday, I installed Firefox and Thunderbird. I installed Lightning for my calendar. I even installed OpenOffice instead of using Microsoft Office Starter edition (FREE with Advertisement), iTune instead of Windows Media Player, Quicktime and Flash Player.
Now my PC is very simple and user friendly. I even like to work on it. Do I need Windows 8? I don't think so.
How do you count 70?
This image shows everything I "Like" on Facebook. According to Face book, I "Like" 70 things. I guess Facebook is not very good at math. I don't know how you count 70.
I am invited to attend Dell World 2012 and I am going attend this event. I sounds very interesting. The last time I went to something like this was Compaq Innovate in late 90's.
