Best First Class Flight ... Ever

In 1980, I had the opportunity to fly PAN AM first class from Tokyo to Los Angeles. Before the flight, I had to change from denim to slacks. Surprisingly, this turned out to be the best experience of my lifetime, with the highlight being the prime rib, which was expertly cut in front of me.
In subsequent travels, I've taken a few first-class flights, and the second-best experience was with Japan Airlines. It's worth noting that this was not during their current operations, and I haven't flown first class on JAL since their bankruptcy. During my earlier experience with their first class, they had a sushi bar, which added to the exceptional experience.
As for the best U.S. domestic flights, Alaska used to be outstanding. They even served lobster and wine in the economy class. Does anyone remember that?
