Almost everything important on the Internet is protected by username and password. Many of us do not think too much about password and how it should be set. Here are some of the facts you should know.

(1) How many characters should password have. Here is how long it will take hackers to brute force your password.

7 Characters long = Less than a second.
8 Characters long = 5 hours.
9 Characters long = 5 days.
10 Characters long = 4 months.
11 Characters long = 10 years.
12 Characters long = 200 years.

By using "Uppercase", "Lowercase", "Numbers", and "Symbols" and keep your password 10 characters long, it will be impossible to crack your password. Also, it is hard but do not use same password at multiple locations. If one site is compromised, you need to change all your passwords at all the different site.
