Privatizing

thread
Privatizing
I am a fan of privatizing any part of government. Private companies tends to do things cheaper and more efficient than the government but sometime they cut corners to make profit. That where government come in. When government do things, there is no one to regulate and oversea but themselves. I don't just that.

We just pass the initiative to privatize liquor distribution the State. Next should be metro and sound transit.

Service Availability for 2011

thread
Service Availability for 2011
As of today, our service availability (up time) for 2011 stand at 99.97%. Our goal is 100% but our promise is 99.9%. We cleared our promise but we are not happy with the result. We will be making system more stable for 2012 and try to be as close as to 100%.

What is 99.97% mean?

It means our email and web hosting service was down little over 2 hours 30 minuets this year. Considering we have over 500 servers, 38,000 customers, 250,000 email accounts and over 200 mbps of traffic every second, it gotten much better than used to.

I am sorry if I offended anyone by saying "Marry Christmas!"
I am not religious by saying this at all.

Something less to think about ...
At least for now, you do not think or worry about other search site than Google. For now people should be concentrate on Google ranking. When 85% of people use Google, we do not really need to think about any other sites.

I really wish Yahoo and Bing do something different to make it more valuable.

This information is as of 2011/11.

Rain is good for your work.

thread
Rain is good for your work.
I was in Los Angeles last week, and it was warm and beautiful. Back in Seattle, it is cold and today it is wet. I planed to play gold today, but I might not be able play. But I am planning to go to he club and have breakfast.

I tend to stay more inside when the weather is bad. So I work more in Seattle. I would not be working as much if I were in sunny California.

UPS Replacement

thread
UPS Replacement
Last time when the power fractured, my computer shut down and all the work I was doing was lost. I even had an UPS but it was not big enough. So, I purchased two brand new UPS's to replace one. They are less than $100 each. I connected one to my MacPro, and another to two 26" monitors. This will save my work from unstable power.

When was the last time you checked your UPS? UPS is a very inexpensive but very effective tool for your company IT. If you need to know more about UPS, call PSPINC at 425-957-0808.

It is not only location ...

It is not only location ...
As long as I remember, every restaurant that went in to this location has failed. But now it is one of the most popular restaurant in east-side. They stated near TEA-TAC airport years ago when there was THAI AIRLINES servicing Seattle - Tokyo. Then they move to South Center, and they opened this Redmond location near SEARS, SAFEWAY and BANK OF AMERICA.

They service one of the best Thai food anywhere. If you have not tried this restaurant, you should. I guess it is not only the location that matters... Food and Service count too.
