Although AI seems like a newer concept, it’s actually been around for quite some time. In fact, the first instance of modern AI happened in 1956 at the Dartmouth Summer Research Project on Artificial Intelligence (DSRPAI). There, the term, artificial intelligence was coined after Allen Newell, Cliff Shaw, and Herbert Simon presented their program, the Logic Theorist, designed to imitate the human’s ability to problem-solve. So to say technology’s gone a long way since then is an understatement.

Now, we live in the “big data” age, which is why AI's become a much bigger trend in recent years. We're now in an era where computers can hold and process an immense amount of data. Much more than any human being could process. And now, we’ve gotten to the point where companies can use AI to streamline processes, increase efficiency, and better market to their customers.

Administrative and Financial Services

To perform fairly simple administrative and financial tasks, many companies use AI to do the work that used to be done by human beings. From a simplistic point of view, these robots are essentially inputting and consuming data and then doing the appropriate action needed. These tasks include transferring data into records, updating information, and fixing various system failures. For example, businesses can store information like name and email after making a sale or update customer files in situations when a customer moves or changes their phone number. Even PSPINC uses it with PSP Pilot, which is our free CRM service that helps businesses manage tasks and customer data.

Additionally, AI can streamline processes for the financial sector. One example of this is replacing a lost or stolen credit card. After handling the customer on the phone, robots will reach into multiple different systems to handle the whole ordeal. Companies also use AI to help detect credit or insurance fraud

One very common AI practice is to use it to improve customer service. For example, many companies will embed a chatbox into their website, specifically designed to respond to customers’ questions and requests. Or they have an AI robot answer the phone when customers call in for support.

But for companies that handle more complex problems, automated phone calls aren’t always ideal. In fact, PSPINC still uses live support technicians to handle customer calls. However, AI is still very beneficial for businesses looking to streamline the customer service experience. That’s AI’s targeted (or retargeted) marketing hard at work. Using customers’ browser histories, robots can recommend similar products and services that the algorithm believes they’ll like as well. All of this, in turn, helps businesses increase not only sales but engagement and personalization.

Why Branding is More Than Just a Logo

When you think of branding, you probably think of the big brands: Apple, Coca-Cola, Netflix, you name it. For brands as big as those, you can almost immediately picture their logos. And that’s the true testament to how successful those companies are. But branding is much more than just the logo. However, the word, branding or brand, is somewhat of an obscure concept. If you were to ask people what they think it means, everyone you ask will probably come up with something different. But the real answer is actually quite simple: A brand is a promise. The promise that your company will live up to every time someone interacts with your brand.

But what does that attribute to in practice? Well, let’s take a look at Apple, arguably one of the world’s largest brands. Steve Jobs, the man behind it all, has said in the past that Apple owes its success to keeping its core values the same. When it all comes down to it, Apple’s core values consist of building the best product for people. The company’s certainly changed and evolved as the world and technology have. But it still keeps that idea as the backbone of the company.

While almost every other tech company out there has expanded their product line, pushing them out one by one, Apple’s stayed true to its promise. They’ve certainly added more products to their lineup, but adding to it isn’t their main purpose. And it certainly isn’t what they’re known for. There’s a reason why there are over 1.65 billion Apple devices in active use in the world and why Apple’s revenue hit approximately $274.3 billion in 2020. It’s not because Apple keeps coming out with hundreds of products every year (because they don’t). It’s because Apple delivers on the promise they’ve made to their customers: they build the best devices, no matter how the world changes.

The Branding Process

But for any brand, a logo is just one part of creating a brand identity. But just because there’s more to branding than just a logo, it doesn’t mean that a logo doesn’t matter. After all, when you think of Apple, you think of its logo. It’s synonymous with what their brand stands for and how they want you to feel about their brand. And that’s not an accident. It’s not just an image they place on their products. It’s also the color palette and tone they use in everything they put out there. It’s why branding is a process.

Creating a visually appealing and effective brand identity is vital. With a strong brand identity, you’re then left with clear guidelines that set the tone for everything your brand does from that point forward. That includes everything from the images your brand shares on social media, the language you use in your content, and what your website looks like. And brands can either do all that work internally or they can outsource it. We’ve already seen how this trend’s gotten popular over the past two years. Even for non-tech people. The promise of 5G from large phone companies is definitive proof of this. More than that, tech companies are combining 5G broadband cellular networks and the Internet of Things (IoT). And that combo allows them to speed things at an exponential rate. When combining 5G and IoT, it also enables faster download and latency (time it takes to retrieve data) times. And that includes loading times across larger distances. And with everyone working remotely, it’s crucial. Faster connectivity increases an organization’s overall efficiency, which leads to increases in monetary gain. Not only for businesses but also for the overall GDP.

2. Cloud-based platforms

Cloud computing’s already been a big thing in the last few years. But it contributed to transforming the digital space as we know it in 2021. We use it so much now, it's practically common practice. Cloud computing not only increases cyber security but also contributes to revenue. In fact, a Deloitte report claims the cloud service revenue will reach $354.6 billion by 2022.

3. Cybersecurity

Now that everyone’s work and home lives are melding, there are a lot of concerns over cyber security. Especially in conjunction with heavily target ads and listening devices like Amazon's Alexa. After a while, it makes people feel constantly watched and listened to. Now, if someone gets hacked, their personal data isn't the only thing at stake. What do you do at PSPINC?
I help customers with questions or problems they are facing with email, their website as well as some general PC questions.

What does a typical day on the job look like for you?
We go through emails and phone calls from customers to solve their problems. If needed, we report issues to our R&D department.

How did you first learn about PSPINC?
I learned about the position at PSPINC through a friend.

What’s your favorite part about working here?
Helping customers troubleshoot and fix their issues.

How has PSPINC helped you in your career development?
I have learned a lot about how things work in the background for websites and email.

What are three words to describe PSPINC?
Diverse, supportive, and welcoming.

Before working at PSPINC, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?
I worked as a game tester. It was a very good experience working within a big company and being able to play games before they came out.

What advice do you have for prospective candidates?
Searching and investigating issues on your own will teach you a lot. However, you can always ask your colleagues if you have questions.

What are some of your hobbies?
Watching American football.

Pacific Software Publishing, Inc. offers a no-cost and ad-free blogging service called Bloguru. Bloguru is a blogging site with many features, a few of those are listed below.

You can't create an anonymous account. Of course, you don't have to use your name for Bloguru, but you will be authorized with 2-Factor Authentication as a part of the registration process. Another way to create an account is to use an invitation from someone who already has a Bloguru account.
If you don't post for a year, your account will be deleted automatically. So unlike services that don't delete users for any reason, you can trust that all bloggers using Bloguru are still active.
We do not delete past posts. Since its inception in 2004, Bloguru has not deleted any of its past data. Therefore, some users use it as a storehouse for information.
There is no limit to the file size of the images that you can save in your blog. You can also use it as a means of distributing image data.
You can use HTML in your posts, allowing users to embed YouTube videos easily.
You can use the RSS function to embed information on other websites.
We use reciprocal links with other Bloguru users to increase the SEO effect.
Weekly Bloguru user rankings are announced.
You can use hashtags to search for posts using similar tags.
