安国殿の後ろに木立に覆われた門があった
朝の薄暗い中に重々しい存在感があった
徳川家霊廟　鋳抜門である

戦災に遭うまで、増上寺の南側に二代将軍秀忠
北側に六代家宣、七代家継などの御霊屋があった。
これらは当時の建築技術の粋を結集したもので
各々国宝の指定を受けていたが、現在は入口の
「鋳物門」と二代将軍宝塔にその面影を残しているに過ぎない。
将軍のほかには、静寛院宮（和宮、家茂の御台所）
崇源院（家光の母、お江与）、桂昌院（綱吉の母、お玉）などが
合葬されている。
