クリアに浮かぶ山の稜線

ベルビューにあるT日本食レストラン。
コロナ騒ぎがはじまって以来初めてとなりますが、行って来ました。
ここでも客間を大きく開けるように工夫されていますが、イートインは出来ます。
夕刻7時と言えば本来なら多忙であったはずですが、客は私以外に1組しかいませんでした。
ただテイクアウトの受注がコロナ以前と比べたら多いようで、カウンターにはそれらしきものが準備されています。
大掛かりなリフォーム工事を終えたばかりのレストランですのに、売り上げは大きく落ちているに違いありません。
かつては多忙を極めていた板場も今や仕事はなくなり、シェフの方々は常時暇そうにしていらっしゃいました。
遂に「じゃーねー、また明日〜」と同僚に日本語で挨拶されながら1人のシェフが去っていかれたのが午後7時30分ごろです。
日没後の今日の夕焼けに雲は見当たらず、オリンピック半島の山々がくっきりとしたシルエットを浮かび上がらせています。
背後から照らされている夕日を受けて、これだけ山の端が鮮明に浮かび上がるのも珍しいです。
コロナ禍による自粛要請が明確に解かれて、正常な経済活動に復帰するまでもしかしたら1年や2年では終わらないかもしれません。
T Japanese restaurant in Bellevue.
This is the first time I've been there since the Corona fiasco started, but I went.
Again, they've made an effort to keep the social distance between guests, but you can eat in.
It should have been busy at 7:00 p.m., but there was only one group of customers other than me.
However, there seemed to be more orders for take-out than before Corona, and I sow those kinds of items ready to go on the counter.
Even though this restaurant has just finished a major renovation, sales must have been down significantly.
The once extremely busy chef's kitchen is no longer working, and the chefs are seemed nothing to do.
Finally, one of the chefs left at around 7:30 pm, greeting his colleagues in Japanese, "See you tomorrow...".
There were no clouds in the sunset today, and the mountains of the Olympic Peninsula were in clear silhouette.
It's rare to see the edges of a mountain emerge so clearly against the setting sun from behind.
It may not be over for a year or two until the request for restraint due to the corona disaster is clearly lifted and the economy returns to normal.
