It was a nice little spring day yesterday, but today Seattle is back to winter weather. It was constantly raining in the afternoon.

My son and I were playing chess.

I had lost eight games in a row recently, but today's game gave me one winning. Even so, my record today was one win and two losses.

Why is it that I can dominate in Shogi, but lose in chess? It must be one of the seven wonders of the world.

In chess, there are pieces that move just like Shogi pieces, such as horses, flying cars, and horns, and the rules are quite simple, with only a few squares on the board.

I thought that if I could win in Shogi, I should be able to win easily in chess.

But it doesn't seem to work that way. I can't help wondering.
