I went to the Cherry Blossom Festival in Seattle.
After a two-year hiatus, this largest event of the Nikkei community resumed this year, albeit on a smaller scale.
There were a variety of booths including prefectural associations, traditional Japanese performing arts and language programs, etc. I was impressed to see that most of the people standing there were Americans who do not speak Japanese.
I was impressed to see so many people of various skin colors interested in Japanese culture.
