IMAP is not a big deal. It is just another technology that makes your little easier for your business. Until now, PSPINC offered email system called POP to everyone. We receive email on mails server and hold them until you access from your computer. Then all emails are transferred to your computer from the server. The system is solid and works, until you start accessing your email from multiple devices like PC, Laptop, Tablet and SmartPhone. To access your email from all your devices, you need to leave a copy of your email at the server and many of you do.
When you do that, you need to manage your email yourself. For instance, when you delete your email on your office PC, that email is deleted on your office PC not on your tablet, laptop or phone. You need to remember which email you already have replied, deleted or forwarded. That is a lot of work.
With IMAP, all emails are kept on the server. When you delete a email on your PC, email is deleted on the server. So when you access your email from your smartphone, the email that you deleted is deleted on every devices. That makes life little easier for you. But if you need to download your email to your device from the server, you can just highlight the emails that you need and drop it to the local folder. You can work offline as well.
IMAP (pronounces I MAP) is free upgrade to anyone who uses PSPINC's email hosting service. Please contact PSPINC to learn more about this small convenience that we developed for you.

Today I saw HP, Acer and Vizio tablets at COSTCO. In addition there are iPad2, Blackberry Tablet, Samsung Galaxy Tab. I really must congratulate Apple for starting this tablet boom in the world.
Is one table better than others to replace the laptop computer?
No yet, but they are getting close in my mind.
I use original iPad ... I like it ... I learned a lot about future mobile computing.
If you already bought one, you are among the leader in mobile computing. If you have not, do not jump in yet. A better, faster, more powerful and easier to use tablets are coming.
I purchased Google's new Internet Computer called Chromebook on Amazon and was delivered last week. The one I purchased is Wi-Fi version from Acer Computer.
It is very well made compared to some of the netbook and Android based subnote PCs. I thought the Chromebook was based on Google Mobile OS (Android) but it is not. It is running Chrome OS based on open source (Linux) platform. But you don't need to know Linux to use it.
Google says Chromebook is all Internet. When you start Chromebook (it starts up in less than 10 seconds), it starts up with an Internet browser. As a matter of fact, there is nothing but a browser on Chromebook user interface. There is no desktop. There is no application to click. And if you do not have Internet access, you can do almost nothing with Chromebook.
So, quickly I found out there is no software I can install on Chromebook. Everything you install is basically a bookmark to a web page or a web application page. I don't understand why it needs 16GB of disk space. I cannot install no software. Not even an email software. I have to use web mail, mainly Gmail. Gmail is a good system except it does not support external email server (like PSPINC.COM) using IMAP.
There is a plus side too. Since there is noting being stored including application and data, even if you loose Chromebook, you lost nothing but a hardware. You can access all your data and application from your desktop.
Do I recommend Chromebook?
I must say "Not Yet". I really would like to see what Google going to do on next version. At least, Gmail needs to support external IMAP. That will make Chromebook more useable.
If you have a question or comment, please feel free to post on this blog or email me.
We have completed the development of IMAP Web Mail and started the internal testing. Once we complete this internal testing, we are moving on to beta testing by our customers.
From email to document creation, from video conference to chat, you can do anything in the Cloud (Internet) as you can do on your PC connecting to the Internet. It just works slower with less functionality in the Cloud.
You can do things faster inside your computer using your application than using something in the Cloud. You can do things offline on your computer while you can do nothing if you are offline in the Cloud. the Cloud is good as a supplement to your application. Do not think Cloud is the answer to your problems, they are not yet fast enough to replace your PCs. Not yet.
iPad is great because it is not design to replace your PC or Mac. Chromebook is horrible because it tries to replace your PC ... It will not. At least not yet. So if you are thinking of buying Google Chromebook ... you might want to wait a while or buy iPad or Galaxy Tab instead.
We have been selling laptop computers for great prices for last few months. Now we have received the shipment of few DELL Optiplex Desktop Computers for sale. The sale will start soon, but if you are looking for a great deal on desktop computers, you might want to contact PSPINC and ask for Mai.
