Why are we called "Pacific Software Publishing"?

When we started, we licensed US computer software and translate them into Japanese language and published them in Japan through our Japanese resellers and distributors. Yes, we were US software publishing company back them.

We have then moved to Internet base Software As A Service (SaaS) company. But I came across a software that allow you to create online shopping website called Shopsite. The company we acquire few years back is one of the biggest hosting partners for Shopsite.

The only problem with Shopsite is that it has no Japanese user interface. That is stopping me to sell Shopsite to Japan. I had a chance to talk with a president of Shopsite today and we both agree that we need to develop Japanese interface so that I can sell Shopsite in Japan. This is a same business model that we used to do 25 years ago.

Now, I will contact my old Japanese contacts to see if they are interested in becoming the reseller in Japan. We are back as Double Byte Specialists again.

Another Surgery ... Not Too Excited

Outside my knee has not cartridge and my inside is 1/3 left.
Good candidate for knee replacement.

No, it has nothing to do with my liver ... I am still cancer free.
This time its my left knee ... I went to see a doctor to talk about my options.
Well, there are basically two options and they are;

(1) Do nothing and live with pain.
(2) Replace my knee. (Another two hour surgery.)

That's not much of a choice ...
They are going to start rolling and possibly have surgery in December/January ...
At least it is not a golfing season.

I do not talk about politics and religion on my social media, that is because I do not like to offend anyone. But I must say I am tired of democratic party criticizing former president for everything. It has been too long. Just do the job of running country when you are in power. Now, I am tired of republicans blaming everything, including inflation, border security, crime on current president.

When you are in power or wants to gain power by winning election, stop blaming other side and tell me what you are going to do? What is your policy? How do you fight inflation, how do you secure border ... or will you?

I will not vote for someone just because what opponent did or will do. I want to hear what you are going to do instead of blaming or just say CHANGE.

What is important for a company?

For a company to survive today, it must meet several requirements. These are, needless to say, "price," "quality," "service," and "sustainability”. It’d be impossible for companies to exist without considering these factors because of how recent trends have changed.

Price:
No matter how good a product is, it will be difficult to sell it unless the price is reasonable. Occasionally, companies will sell products at extravagant prices, but the price is still an important selling factor.

Quality:
When it comes to quality, customers compare a product’s quality to its price. For a product that is of great quality and expensive, it’s obvious that a customer will happily pay for it as long as it’s something they want and they can afford it. For a product that is also of great quality but cheap price-wise, most consumers will think the price is worth it.

For a product that is both expensive and bad quality-wise, customers will find it irredeemable. Therefore, most customers won’t even consider purchasing it. But if the quality’s bad but the price is relatively cheap, some customers will consider buying it because they may see it as a compromise. Better quality items are always better, but there has to be a balance between quality and price. Assuming that the quality is passable, the next comparison consumers will make is quantity. For example, if a restaurant prices two menu items the same but one has more quantity-wise, customers will perceive it as being better and will be a business advantage for the restaurant.

Service:
This is the third most important factor after price and quality. Many people have been put on hold after calling customer support and having to start over with a different support staff member. On the other hand, when working with a smaller company, a customer may call and be surprised when they get the opportunity to talk to the company owner. Or if you’ve called before, the support person you spoke to before may remember you. I believe that service (support) is an area where small and medium-sized companies, in particular, can make a difference by putting more effort into it. Please give Pacific Software Publishing, Inc. Sustainability:
Today, it’s impossible not to be environmentally conscious when conducting business. Keywords like “organic food”, “recycling”, and “decarbonization” are becoming more and more popular among customers. This shows us that sustainability is an important consideration when they choose a company to purchase from. For example, we here at PSPINC manage our own mail servers, which allows us to manage 600 servers (only about 1.5% of our 40,000 servers). This reduces our company’s overall energy consumption. In this sense, running our storage and programs in the cloud also contributes toward making the company eco-friendlier.

Okay .. I am doing 73mph on 60mph ... I am just following the cars in front and around me.

I tried Ford's Hand Free Driving on the Interstate 405 today ... It works but it made me more nerves than driving myself. I think I do not trust the machine just yet. I may be an old school.

Back in Seattle

I came back from San Diego last night.

The flight was only about 2 and half hours ... We landed in Seattle too early ... the gate was occupied by the other plane. So, we ended up waiting few minuets on the taxi way.
It was productive trip but I guess I can cut one more day. I will do so next time.

This is Labor Day weekend... I have 3 days to recover from the trip. I am getting too old for this.
