Seattle is not a place to live if you have to travel to Japan. This is a comparison of the wire fairs that I may face when I fly business class to japan. My trip starts with Seattle to Tokyo, then I travel to Osaka, from there I fly back to Seattle. On business class, you can buy those two legs for $4800 in Seattle. If I were living in LA and to do the same trip from LA, I would be paying $3600. Whopping $1200 less.
What is with Seattle?
Our toll free number is 1-800-232-3989 and this is where it came from.
When we started Pacific Software Publishing, Inc. back in 1987, we were located in Mercer Island, Washington. The area code was 206 but the prefix for Mercer Island (I do not know now) was 232. The first phone number Pacific Software Publishing, Inc. got was 206-232-3989.
So when we got the 800 number, we made it a same number. So, that is where our 800 number came from. This is a picture of our lobby area. We have collection of computers starting from Apple IIe.
Pacific Software Publishing CA LLC is located in this building complex across a street from Miyako Hotel. It is very convenient. It is not too far away from Toyota and Honda HQs.
Honda America Corporate HQ is located near Pacific Software Publishing CA LLC in Torrance, California. I took this picture from my room at Miyako Hotel in Torrance.
I went to University of Washington today. It was beautiful, but not good for my allergy. I count not stop sneezing.

It was a beautiful day for a round of golf.
We have deployed a new module for email server software at 2:30am. This module streamline the database access processes to require less CPU time. This graph above shows the CPU usage before and after the deployment. It seems we are able to mitigate the CPU usage problem by fine-tuning the database access module.
red = number of concurrent users
black = database CPU usage
green = email server CPU usage
pink = machine CPU usage
Even with this improvement, we are continuing to farther improving our mail service. We do not see any email delay this morning. We will let you know as soon as we see any problem. Thank you for supporting PSPINC.
We have worked 'til 4:00am this morning and released the updated version of email server software. We have replaced what we believe to be the major cause of overloading problem. This may fix the email delay problem, but we will not stop upgrading our system until we are 100% sure. That means unless we can handle many times the email traffic that we can reasonably expect, we will keep upgrading our software.
I had let all engineers go home little after 4:00am but they told me they are coming back by 8:00am to make sure there will be no delay.8:00am is when the delay problem started yesterday. At the mean time, server administration team are preparing extra email server to split the current load in half. We are doing everything we can to mitigate email delay.
Thank you for sticking with us. We will not let our customer down. Thank you for choosing PSPINC.
