Nikkei Concern Golf Tournament

thread
Nikkei Concern Golf Tournament
Today, I went to play at Nikkei Concern Golf Tournament at New Castle Golf Course in Washington. When we arrives at the course, we noticed there are a lot of people. Because of the economy, many of the tournaments I went to this year had been less than full capacity. I am sure this one was 144 people or even more.

I met several people I know and I know of. It was long but very well organized and enjoyable tournament. Thank you.

Getting Ready for Micro Data Center

Getting Ready for Micro Data C...
As some of you know, after the disaster at Fisher Plaza, our primary data center in Seattle, we have decided to create an alternate data center at PSP HQ in Bellevue, Washington.

As a part of creating an alternate data center, we are upgrading and adding internet connectivities. Today, new equipment has arrived to upgrade PSP HQ to Fisher Plaza at 1 Gbps instead of 100 Mbps.

We expect an alternate data center to be full operation by 4th quarter this year.

Regardless of the economy
Here is the picture I took this morning at the car dealership on NE 20th, in Bellevue. As you can see this dealership carries Jaguar, Rover, Bentley, Lamborghini. Across the street from this dealership, there is a Lotus, Aston Martin dealership. Those dealers are a block a way from BMW which compared to those dealer, is a cheap car dealer...

Who can afford those cars???

Days are getting shorter now.

thread
Days are getting shorter now.
It is 20 after 8 in the evening. Outside is getting dark now. Comparing to the June-July, sun is setting almost 2 hours earlier. It is kind of sad to see the sun gone in Seattle.

When the summer is gone in Seattle, it will begin to rain. And it will rain until April next year. How sad.

We have Seattle Executives Association golf tournament tomorrow.

Golf at Sahalee Country Club ...
How lucky am I to play golf at Sahalee Country Club two weeks in a row. Last time, I played EAST and SOUTH. Today I played NORTH and SOUTH.

Wonderful golf course. I shot 48/46 = 94 today. Not my best score but I really enjoyed.

Sahalee will be hosting US Senior Open next year. It will be really fun to see.

Think like an amateur.

Think like an amateur, but act like a professional.

Have you ever heard this expression? This is name of the business book in Japan. Vice Governor Ioroi told me that our company remind him of the Carnegie Mellon professor Takeo Kanade who wrote this book.

I often say "We must be stupid enough to think and smart enough to do it." It is a same thing. I want my company to come up with stupid ideas(usually come from me),but smart enough to make them happen (we have many talented people).
