秋の漁獲期に外れていることから、春から夏にかけて、北海道沿岸で獲れる若いサケ。

脂がのっていて美味とされる。　時鮭

鮭児（ケイジ）の旬は秋ですが、『時知不（ときしらず）』　は春から夏にかけてというように、
同じ鮭でも旬が異なります。
