I am sad to announce Ms. Mayumi Nakamura’s last day at Pacific Software Publishing, Inc. (PSP) was July 8, 2020. Mayumi had been with PSP for 27 years starting as a sales assistant in 1993 and holding many jobs here, including serving as CEO and President for 10 years and this past year as Director of Business Development. We wish her well in her new venture as an entrepreneur and are pleased to announce she will continue to work with PSP via our reseller program for all our services through her new company.

PSP What's New Newsletter Vol. 16 "New Mail Server"

New Mail Server

We have been working on developing new mail server software for over a year and it is finally in the alpha testing stage. I am one of the participants in this new mail server test. My email account (ken.uchikura@pspinc.com) is running on the new server.

We still have some minor issues but they are being worked on as we speak. More and more of our staff are being switched to the new server system. Our current mail server is called ST Mail Version 4 and is running on Windows NT servers. The new mail server currently has no name but it’s been called V5 internally. This mail server is running on Linux instead of Windows, it is faster and easier to maintain.

V5 will be introduced gradually to our customers. Our goal is to replace ST Mail V4 by the end of this year. In addition to replacing our hosting platform, V5 will grow into a locally hosted server. This will allow companies to host their own server within their facility without any size or account limitations.

We can provide a backup mail server if something goes wrong with the local server too. If you are interested in adopting or selling V5, please let me know. We will continue to report the progress of our new mail server software.

Sending Large File(s) Easily and Securely

You have files that you need to send to someone but your email can only handle a few megabytes of attachments. How do you handle this situation?

Back in 2004, we created Windows software to do just that. It was called PS..MegaMail and we sold it for $1,245.00. Yes, it was packaged software, using our file server and the software together we created a system that allowed people to send multi-megabyte files.

In 2008, we created a web-based application to replace the Windows program to make it what is now called SaaS (Software as a Service). People can now use any web browser to upload and send files to anyone on a PC with Internet access.

Since then we have been upgrading the system’s performance and security. The latest version of the service was released mid-May 2020. The message is still the same, “If you need to send large amounts of files, MegaMail provides you with one of the easiest and most secure options available”.

WebdeStats 2 features a visualized weekly statistics email report, you can opt-in to receive the email report once a week.This report is designed to help you quickly evaluate your website’s performance at a glance. Webdestats 2 will break down the daily visitors to your website by hour, week, or month.
It also provides you with the average number of daily visitors and a total number of visitors for that week.

To receive the weekly email report, please turn on the receive settings and set up your email address with the following steps:

1) Login to Dreamersi
2) WebdeStats 2
3) Quick Access Section
4) Settings Page
5) Check “Receive Stats Email”
6) Enter your email address
7) Select an email report language
8) Click “Save” button
