When you think about Net Neutrality … You really have to think from the consumer point of view and the content provider point of view. When you think Net Neutrality, you think the service provider can charge more for the net usage. Well, that is already happening. People who want 40Mbps service will pay less than people want 200Mbps. That is same for the content providers like hosting companies.

To make are websites and emails are operate smoothly, we buy huge amount of bandwidth from the service providers. So, companies like NETFLIX, Google, YouTube, Amazon, Microsoft, eBay, PayPal, Yahoo, Apple … they are all paying huge amount of money make sure they contes are being sent to the consumers without delay.

So, what is Net Neutrality?

It is not Internet service providers serving contents providers. They are being paid. The only companies who are not happy about Net Neutrality are the companies providing contents to the consumers for small amount of monthly money. They want to get paid from the contents providers. To do that those service providers want to be able to slow down the content delivery from the companies they can get paid like NETFLIX, Google, YouTube, Amazon, Microsoft, eBay, PayPal, Yahoo, Apple and so on.

This is especially problematic when the consumer do not have multiple service providers to access Internet. If you have multiple service providers, you can simply switch out of the provider who is slowing down the content delivery.

Net Neutrality will not be an issue when all service providers own and operate enough bandwidth but that is not the case. It is like an Interstate Highway system, they are always congested. The only way you can increase the capacity is to build and add more lanes or highways. To build more lanes and highways, you need funding. It is same for Internet.

When you think of Net Neutrality, whether service providers want to charge content providers or consumers, it will at the end all come down to consumers directly or indirectly. But you cannot not force free market by Net Neutrality either. That will stop or slow down the expansion and innovations and investments.

My take on Net Neutrality … I think at the end less government regulations are always better than more regulations. Government should be there to police the system not to manage the system. At the end, free market always wins.

FCC Votes to Repeal Net Neutrality Regulations

I don't know.

This sounds really bad .. But I don't understand why FCC wants to do this. I need to really see how it affect me and my company. The truth will be, I don't think it will change much. I don't think COMCAST and other service providers are going to able to ask consumers to pay more. They may ask companies like NETFLIX to pay more and NETFLIX may charge consumer more.

We really need to see how this plays out.

But I do not like the idea that service providers have the right to know what I am using Internet for.

MacOS Server

I cannot run.
I need to downgread my OS ... No way!

I purcahse MacOS Server and try to conver my Mac Mini into a server. It was a server to begin with. But after I purchased it amd istalled, i try to run it. I could not run the server software.

I called Apple and they refund me the purchase price. I think wioth iCloud, yiu don't really need to have you local Mac as a server.

New MacBook Pro

I just got my Christmas present that I bought for myself, New Macbook Pro. I have set it up as a new PC because this has 500GB SSD but Mac Mini I ma using has 2TB hard disk. I will slowly transfer my apps and flies to new Mac and turn Mac Mini into an OSX Server.

Do you think this is a good way to start your business email. Don't you know you should never talk about "Religion" and "Politics"? I understand many people like Mr. Obama but many do not. So, no matter wht you think, you should never quote someone who is in the politics unless he is in the history book.

Believe it or not, the main reason why I came to Japan was to attend the golf tournament hosted by our partner net company. I shot 48/45=93 to take 20th place.

I ordered something from a vendor I do not know. The product I ordered was never delivered but the vendor claimed it was delivered. I could not go anywhere with the vendor, so I open the claim with PayPal.

I always use PayPal ... If the vendor does not avcccept PayPal ... I don’t buy. I was saved by PayPal many times. If you are selling something on the newt, you should consider supporting PayPal.
