Outdoor Footwear Worn in Japan

thread
Outdoor Footwear Worn in Japan
Jika-Tabi (tabi that contact the ground") is a type of outdoor footwear worn in Japan. It was invented in the 20th century.

Also known (outside Japan) as "tabi boots", they are modelled on tabi, traditional split-toe Japanese socks. Like other tabi, jika-tabi have a divided toe area so that they can in theory be worn with slip-on thonged footwear, but they are heavy-duty, and resemble boots.

Shojiro Ishibashi, the founder of Bridgestone Corporation, is credited with their invention.

What can you sell to people in China?

thread
What can you sell to people in...
Whole lot of Chinese people come to Japan to buy small electronics goods like rice cooker in Japan. Although, some of those items are made in China, but not available in China.

Do not think Chinese people are poor. Even if only 10% people are wealthy, that 10% is more than the population of Japan. There are over 1.3 billion people in China. 10% of that is 130 million people. That is more than 1/3 of the population of the US.

People around the world made mistake by thinking Chinese can only afford inexpensive goods. They do buy cheap things. They buy expensive things. Thing that they cannot yet to make.

Fluent in Japanese

thread
Fluent in Japanese
When you do translation, interpretation, or localization in Japanese language, you need someone native with business experience. There is no way someone who is not native Japanese can do any of those things at professional level no matter how fluent one is.

Even with native Japanese, if one has no business experience, that person will be able to create an acceptable Japanese language documents.

You need to hire a professional Japanese writer or hire a professional company or just do not do any Japanese translation. It is better to keep it in English than bad Japanese.

PSPINC (http://www.pspinc.com) has done Japanese localization of software for over 100 titles before it started its Internet Web hosting business in 1996.

In search of radio station.

thread
In search of radio station.
I used to listen to TALK radio stations. Then I realized most of the commercials that I hear on those radio stations are:

(1) Get out of debt
(2) Credit card relief
(3) Low rate mortgage

That means many people who listen to those radio stations are in debt. I don't think I want to be labeled as such. So, now I am shopping around the radio stations to find the right commercials.

Have you every paid attention to the commercials on the station that you are listening to? If not, you might want to try.

At Lenny Wilkens' Charity Dinner

At Lenny Wilkens' Charity Dinner
This picture was taken at Friday Night's Lenny Wilkens Charity Dinner. The gentleman I took a picture with is Mr. Tommy Davis. He played for Los Angles Dodgers from September 22, 1959. That was 24 days after I was born. I was very honored to share a table with this and other sports celebrities.

It was some kind of flying I saw today by FA-18 before Blue Angeles at SEA FAIR 2010 over Lake Washington today.

It was really good to see Blue Angels but the I thought this solo flight was one of the best I have ever seen. This was just one of the pictures I took. Can you see the jet in the middle?

Purchase at Auction
I got this Phil's 2006 Master's flag at Lenny Wilkens charity dinner & auction Saturday Night. It will be displayed at PSPINC lobby. Please come and see it when if you have a chance.

I paid less than what I paid for a paint by Corey at Seattle Executives Auction. (Okay, only few people understand what I am talking about.)
