ファルコン植物記（２２１２）ど根性な（５１）【クリスマスローズ】（１１）

ど根性植物も多種多様で、（５１）種類目になりましたが、今回は驚いたことに排水溝の割れ目と玄関塀の隙間に、【クリスマスローズ】を見つけました。

【クリスマスローズ】は、「クレマチス」・「ラナンキュラス」・「アネモネ」などと同じキンポウゲ科の植物ですが、日本では〈キンポウゲ科ヘレボルス属〉を全てひとくくりに【クリスマスローズ】と呼びますが、本来の【クリスマスローズ】はクリスマスの頃に開花する「ヘレボルス・ニゲル」を指す名称です。

熟しますと種がはじけ飛びますが、この実生から育てますと花の開花までは早くて３～５年はかかり、どこから種がたどり着いたのかも気になりますし、開花までの期間も長いので驚くべき姿です。

また実生から育った花は、親株の花色とは違う色合いや斑紋が出るようで、他の花にはみられない面白い性質をもっているようです。
