Work at the beginning of the year

What are you going to do this year? Will you do the same things as last year? Will you create a new product? Will you stop production on badly received products? Or will you just improve them? There’s a lot to think about. No matter how much you think about it, you may not succeed. But these aren’t just things we think about after the start of the new year, but all time.

The first thing I do at the beginning of the year is organize my emails and files. It's important to be able to see past emails, but keeping emails older than a year is a waste of resources. So I try to move those to my local disk.

After organizing emails, I then organize documents and other files. For me, I like to organize them by moving files to a folder I create called 2021. Then, that ensures that that folder only contains files created this past year. moving files created in 2021 to a folder called 2021 and making sure that the work folder contains only files created this year. This will complete the organization of your emails and files.

Once that’s done, we can then start thinking about how we’re going to run our business in the new year. Up until now, we’ve been running Pacific Software Publishing, Inc. (PSPINC) based on how to sell products that we create. In 2022, we’d like to focus more on marketing and sales and let that dictate the types of products we create. We need to organize our products in the same way we organized our emails and files.

For example, PSPINC sells three hosting services:

Dreamersi

YourHost

Parcom

Among those services, there is no clear differentiation between YourHost and Parcom. And we think Dreamersi could use some more attractive features.
In addition, there are many other services that we haven’t been able to market adequately. This year, we’d like to focus our efforts on marketing and selling these services. We look forward to hearing your feedback on PSPINC products.
