It's better to have a special skill at something than be someone who can do everything.
In English, a person who can do anything is called a "Jack of All Trades," which can be interpreted as a person who can do anything. However, nowadays some people think of this as a person who has no characteristics or specialties. In English, we say "Master of None."
A "Master" is a person who is well versed in something. The advantage of being an expert in something is that it attracts more attention than someone who can do anything and has no special characteristics. When looking for a job, people with special skills, especially those related to their work, are sought after by many companies.
However, hiring one person who excels in one thing will not balance out a company. Therefore, companies want to hire many people who are excellent in various fields. Needless to say, large companies have the advantage of being able to do this. For small and medium-sized companies, hiring people who excel in only one thing will leave them with nothing.
The smaller the company, the more you need people who can do everything. Managers must understand this and know what kind of human resources they need based on the size of their company. It is important to know that the smaller the size of the company, the less room there is for people who can only do one thing.

Looking at last 14 days, Japan recorded little over 20,000 cases with 475 deaths while the US recorded over 1.476 million cases with 20,844 deaths. The US has 3 time the population, but the US has 74 times the Coronavirus cases with 43 times the deaths. Japan was slow in administering vaccines but now over 63% of population are fully vaccinated while the figure for the US is less than 57%.
The biggest difference is the general populations' willingness to get vaccinated. People are still lining in line to get vaccinated in Japan while people in the US are not. People in Japan are more willing to wear masks even though the number of cases are very low.
I would like to travel to Japan as soon but my feeling that I do not want to contaminate Japan as they are doing very well. I really hope the vaccination number will go up in the US but I am against forcing people. Until more people are vaccinated in the US, I dip not see how I can travel to Japan. Sad.

Have you ever heard a story about a top salesperson in one industry who left that company to become the top salesperson in a new company, even though it was in a different industry? Is that person a genius? If not, have you ever wondered how such a thing is possible?
What is it that salespeople do? Simply put, it is the job of selling things. What do you need to do that? When you think about it, most people would say knowledge of things and market trends. That's not true. Selling is a job that involves building relationships with people, starting with listening to what the customer needs.
A salesperson that looks at the market and the product is talking to the customer about the function and value that the product offers. A product is simply a tool for the customer. The purpose of a tool is to increase the efficiency of the company, to reduce costs, to shorten the time it takes to complete tasks, or to increase sales. It is pointless for salespeople to explain these things here. Rather, it is important to understand what the customer wants. What they want and what they are dissatisfied with is not a function of the product.
Therefore, a top salesperson can sell anything if they can listen to the customer's complaints and wishes. Knowledge of things is the result of being able to communicate with customers. Listening to the customer is not dependent on the industry. That's why a top salesperson in one industry can move from that company and become a top salesperson in a new company even though it is in a different industry.
