Recently, I haven’t heard many Covid-19 updates in the U.S from the news. Recently, they lifted the mask mandate on airplanes and public transportation. Even in Washington state, people no longer need to show their vaccination cards to dine in restaurants. Even though restrictions here lasted longer than in other states. When I look around the city, I see many people aren’t wearing masks. Hospital staff and those who work in medical institutions still need to wear them, but I think they’ll lift restrictions little by little. Soon, people will be able to enjoy their freedom.
The pandemic lasted longer than expected, hasn’t it? I heard that quarantine will no longer be required when traveling to Japan, as long as you’ve gotten your booster shot. I’m currently still undergoing treatment, but I can’t wait to recover fully and go back to Japan.
Lastly, I'd like to briefly share my status. On February 25th, I had an operation to remove part of my liver and gallbladder. From that, it seems that they’ve removed any metastasis of cancer. Since then, my operation wound has already healed, and I can walk little by little thanks to daily rehabilitation. It will be a long road to full recovery, but I’ll do my best to get better. I encourage you all to please take good care of your health as well.

The word in Japanese for "Sales" is "Eigyo" but in old days, the word used to describe Sales was "Goyokiki". The literal translation of the word is "The person who Listen to the Needs".
I do not believe is Sales as a activity of pushing that you want to sell. Sales people should listen to customers and understand what the need are. To do so, you need to develop strong relationship with customers. Sometime, what customer needs are different from what you are selling. In that case, instead of telling the customer "we do not sell that", good sales should try using the network to help the customer.
One you establish a relationship, when a customer needs something you sell, they will ask you.

When giving someone instructions, something unexpected may happen. It could be because the other person doesn’t understand what you mean. Or you may not have given them enough of an explanation. In the end, it may be faster to finish it yourself. I don’t think I’m the only president to experience this.
Simply instructing someone to do something may lead to a mistake. It’s natural that things can get misconstrued as we all think differently. Also every person does things differently. So, instead of giving people directions on how to do it and why, we should just tell them what we want and expect from them.
Perhaps I’m not the best boss. I haven’t been able to do it as much recently, but it’s important to effectively give people instructions. Communication is very important. For me, I’ve recently realized that I need to listen to people more.

Part of doing your job consists of doing what needs to be done. Some people think that doing it as a task is the job itself. But not many people think about the job as a whole. However, if the purpose is, they can determine if it’s the right thing to do.
How a manager distributes and assigns work can change this. It may be more helpful for employees to ask their managers to clarify their tasks’ objectives. This way, he or she can communicate what they think would be the best course of action to accomplish the end goal. Also, a manager’s instructions is not always everything. I think workers can carry out their work more effectively if they have a better idea of what the overall objective is.
What needs to be done must be done. But there are many different ways to accomplish a task. Giving specific instructions on how to do something can eliminate creativity. But on the other hand, if someone goes about a task in a method that’s been proven to fail in the past, it’s also important to inform them how they can do the job more effectively.
Some managers feel it might be faster to do tasks themselves rather than delegating them to others. And I’m sure that’s true sometimes. But it won’t allow your staff to grow. I feel it is important to delegate work to the extent that mistakes are allowed, and to review the work done by the staff.

Today I would like to talk about marketing. There are all kinds of ways of marketing people can choose from. While there’s no guarantee which will succeed, there’s also no guarantee which will not. So, what is successful marketing, anyway?
First of all, marketing is a means to sell things. Therefore, successful marketing can be seen when selling something. While sales generate revenue, great marketing usually consists of paying for effective results. Be it cost of labor or paid advertising. So, with that logic, it doesn’t make sense to only spend $200 to sell a $100 item.
I think marketing reports, especially for digital marketing efforts, often talk about how many people they’ve attracted. But it’s not very meaningful if it doesn’t result in any sales. I think it’s important to know how effective marketing efforts are. More specifically, how much of it translates into sales numbers.
Whether your marketing efforts are working isn’t a matter of how many people you’ve attracted. Rather, it’s a matter of sales, and how much its increased over time. When marketing, I think it’s important to not only determine who’s interested in what you have to offer, but also how to convert those people into paying customers. So, let’s not forget the real purpose here.
