クサボタン（草牡丹）　　　　　キンポウゲ科（Ranunculaceae）
学名：Clematis stans Sieb. et Zucc.

クサボタン（草牡丹）;
ボタンに似ているというのでこの名が付いた由。
ボタンヅルと同様に葉が似ているだけで、花は似ていない。
茎は直立し、木質化する。葉は対生し、3出複葉、長い柄がある。
小葉は、卵形、3浅裂し、先が尖り、縁に不揃いな粗い鋸歯がある。
茎頂及び葉脇の集散花序に下向きに長さ1～2㎝の花をつける。花弁は無い。
萼は狭鐘形、花弁状の萼片は長さ1.2～2㎝で淡紫色、外に反り返って巻く。
クサボタンの茎は直立、高さ1m程になる。雌雄異株の花がつく。
